Overview
This design-build project consisted of the conversion of 40,000 SF office space into a Readiness Operations Center (ROC). Approximately two-thirds of the space was dedicated to open office floor plan, high-lighted by a 50-person Critical Action Briefing Room. Cooling was provided by a 30,000 cfm central station VAV air-handler, while perimeter heating was provided by radiant ceiling panels. Lighting consisted of pendant mounted direct/indirect fixtures, supplemented by task lights in the workstations. Power to the workstations was distributed via 12" high raised access floor and recessed boxes. Voice/Data cabling were also distributed beneath the floor to recessed boxes. Two voice systems and two data systems provided both a Secure and a Non-Secure means for communications.
The remaining 13,000 SF was dedicated to the area's server room. The server room was equipped with a 24" raised access floor, dedicated secure and non-secure cable trays and (10) 20-ton chilled water CRAH units.
Prior to turning the space over to the Government, BKM participated with the 3rd Party Commissioning Agent to ensure the entire facility was functioning in accordance with the design intent, and fully met the Government's criteria.
